Buds of Brooklyn is a woman-led floral design studio based in Brooklyn, NY. Our philosophy is to bridge elevated floral design with both contemporary and classic elements, embodying the spirit of an English garden infused with the unique vibrancy of Brooklyn. Unlike traditional flower shops, we are a design studio driven by a passion for distinctive blooms and the artful layering of textures using flowers and greenery. Our work is innovative yet timeless, bringing a fresh perspective to floral design.

From intimate dinner parties to large-scale weddings, we excel in transforming spaces. Whether it's creating stylized tablescapes or extensive hanging installations, we pride ourselves on our ability to elevate any occasion with our floral artistry.

Buds of Brooklyn was founded in 2015 by Nicole and Connie, two fashion designer colleagues and best buds, who sought an escape from the confines of the corporate world. Their frustration with the lack of creative freedom led them to establish their own venture, where they could fully express their artistic vision. In Buds of Brooklyn, they've cultivated a unique "corporate" culture that prioritizes creativity and collaboration, allowing their team to thrive and innovate in the world of floral design.

about connie & nicole

Connie and Nicole, the creative minds behind Buds of Brooklyn, are self-taught floral design experts with over a decade of friendship and collaboration. Connie, originally from Guildford, UK, moved to NYC in 2010, while Nicole grew up just outside the city. Their paths crossed in the Garment District, where they worked in cold-weather accessories and quickly became close friends, bonded by a shared love for great design and a philosophy of "Keep it Simple."

Known for their laid-back and approachable style, Connie and Nicole are not just business partners but also close friends, bringing a fun and friendly vibe to everything they do. Their mission is to break the mold of traditional, often fussy floral design associated with luxury wedding planning. They believe that great design should be accessible and inspired by the world around us—be it through travel, fashion, food, or other small brands.

Buds of Brooklyn is their creative love child, born out of a desire to carve a unique space in the floral industry—one that is not only beautiful and memorable but also fresh and intentional. With Connie and Nicole at the helm, you can expect floral arrangements that are anything but conventional, infusing every event with a cool, contemporary flair that's never stiff or pretentious. Their work embodies a balance of sophistication and ease, making every occasion they touch uniquely special and effortlessly stylish.

It was above and beyond and helped calm my nerves so much. On our wedding day, we ended up needing to remove two tables from our reception, and they were able to effortlessly repurpose the flowers from those tables to our sweetheart table. We originally weren't going to do anything major for our sweetheart table, but after seeing what they were able to do with the leftover florals, I couldn't believe it wasn't originally part of our plan!
